Digital Publishing involves the publishing of electronically produced content. The printing industry has traditionally utilized the term.
Today the term digital relates to electronic content of all forms as well as a general communication process. Didn't you own one of the first digital watches? Now that just about everyones camera is also digital the term just gives more people the impression that the process must involve a tech gaget.
The digital medium that provides the most value for publishers now is the online or "Internet" presentation of content. Web publishing tools and the marketing of the publishers brand online allows the publisher complete control over the balance of conent available online or in print format. Each medium has it's strength and weakness so publishers should enhance the content for each medium and use this content to also cross promote their other media formats. |
